Other accommodation

We hope that you have found suitable accommodation here at TheRiverSideBangkok.com but if not here are some listings of other places which might be useful....

Also in the Riverside area there is Jan's apartment in the "Lighthouse" condo - see www.PenthouseBangkok.info

This is a new 2 bedroom apartment (May 2012) for rent in Sukhumvit.

Serviced apartments

If you want to rent an apartment rather than just a hotel room, there are many hotels in Bangkok that offer service apartments.

Centrepoint CentrePoint is probably the biggest player of serviced apartments in Bangkok and have about seven sites in the city.

Hotels

There are hundreds of hotel to choose from of every breed and size, so I suppose it is the location that is important to you. Popular areas are by the river near the skytrain station Saphan Taksin, which is where TheRiverSideBangkok is. There are alot of top class hotels around here such as the Peninsula, The Shangri-la, The Oriental and the Millenium Hilton. Other areas are Sukhumvit or the Khoasan Road (more for backpackers). Perhaps a good place to search further for hotels are sites such as tripadvisor and VirtualTourist.

Other hotels recommended to me is the Tawana Bangkok which is situated on the Surawongse Road near Silom and has been described as an elegant classy Thai traditional place, a jewel from the past.

Just next to us there is a relatively new Ibis hotel opened next door, it is in a very nice setting and is done out well as a middle of the road standard hotel and it is quite cheap. The rooms are standard rooms and obviously it is not like having an apartment at Baan Sathorn Chaophraya but might be suitable if you want to be by the riverside and are on a budget, for say 3 nights this would be my choice after an apartment. Please note - they do not have a ferry service across the river

There is also the King Royal 2, near by to Baan Sathorn Chaophraya, if you cross the main road go under the bridge, then left by the traffic lights it is 100 Metres up the road. This is a value basic hotel, its clientelle is mainly Thai, it is comfortable and if you are on a tight budget then it might suit you, but if you have come all this way and want a quality experience then stay in our apartments.

Finally also nearby is the Sarasinee suites, again this is basic and cater's for a minimum one months stay, again I would say Baan Sathorn Chaophraya is preferable.
